Syncing is how you put music, videos, and other media from your collection onto your Zune player or Windows Phone. Whenever you connect your player or phone to your computer, the Zune Music + Video software adds and removes media items according to your sync settings. You can decide how automated the sync process will be—with options ranging from completely automatic to fully manual. For more about these settings, see Setting your sync options.

The first time you connect your player or phone to your computer you'll be able to set your sync options. If there's enough space on your device, the default setting is to sync all of your music, videos, and pictures to it. If you don't want to load all your media onto your device, simply adjust the sync settings (be sure to click More sync options to see all available options).
